At Glades General Hospital we make every effort to attend to your personal needs as well as your medical ones.  The following is a brief listing of those services for which we receive the most inquiries.  If you require any additional information, please do not hesitate to ask a member of our staff for assistance.

Mail is delivered to patients each weekday by our hospital staff.  Special Delivery letters will be delivered upon arrival.  Mail received after your discharge will be forwarded to your home address.  Your address while at the hospital is:

Postage and delivery to the post office can be arranged through the Patient Relations office.  If you have mail you would like to go out, please ask a staff member or dial extension 444 for a Patient Representative. 

Items of limited dollar value will be kept on the unit for seven days.  After seven days, they will be given to the Risk Manager who will dispose of them after thirty days.  Items of monetary value will be sent to the Risk Manager and will be discarded after thirty days if not claimed.

Soft drinks and snacks are available from vending machines located in the dining room.   It is very important to note that some of the food available may interfere with diagnostic tests or special diets.  All patients should check with nursing before accepting any snacks.

Flowers arriving at the hospital will be delivered to the patient's room, unless that patient is in the Critical Care Unit where flowers are not permitted.

Latex balloons are not permitted in the hospital due to health and safety issues.  Milar balloons are permitted.

Newspapers are available from racks located at the Emergency Room waiting area.

The services of a notary public are available.  Please contact a staff member if you are in need of this service.
