Cardiopulmonary Respiratory therapists at Glades General Hospital evaluate and treat a variety of disorders including asthma, emphysema, chronic bronchitis and atelectasis (collapsed tiny lung airways). Diagnostic tests like EKG, EEG and Pulmonary Function Testing are used to determine treatment options which may include inhaler or nebulizer therapy (opens the airway), bronchial drainage, oxygen therapy or incentive spirometry (lung expansion exercise). For patients with chest pain or shortness of breath, cardiac stress testing is available to determine if the heart is getting enough oxygen during exercise or work.
