Telemetry
Glades General Hospital's newly expanded and renovated Telemetry/Progressive Care Unit can now accommodate eight monitored patients. Our Telemetry/Progressive Care Unit is a designated unit where staff are trained in critical care and in the education of patients as they move toward the recovery phase on the continuum of care. The staff provides an intermediate level of care to patients with the assistance of our advanced monitoring capabilities. Glades General Hospital's Telemetry/Progressive Care Unit boasts the new, state-of-the-are, Hewlett Packard Veridia System. In addition to transmitting the patient's cardiac rhythm to the nurses station terminal, the Veridia System will monitor and transmit oxygen saturation levels. The system also contains a hand-held unit that, when placed next to the telemetry box, will show the cardiac rhythm at bedside and at the central station. Patients are assigned to this unit as a step down from critical care or on admission to the hospital as the physician determines the level of care required at that time.
